Correspondences is so creative! I especially liked the paired groupings. Showing the Bostonian's view of Iceland and the Icelander's view of Boston was a wonderful idea. Very impressive!
On my one visit, I found Iceland’s spare, raw landscape to be powerfully emotive – bleak, even eerie, yet preternaturally handsome. Bert, you’ve really captured it all. I can feel the chill and wind, sense the isolation and loneliness, and wonder at the impossible beauty. The cleverly conceived pairings with Snorrason’s equally strong work adds a separate contemplative, intellectual dimension to enjoy. It is an altogether wonderful show. I’m looking forward to seeing it in person as soon as I can.
Wonderful pictures. Glad to be able to view it virtually.
Very much enjoyed the pictures by Magnus. Well done.
Thanks to Herb Pearce for inviting me to attend the the Nourish virtual Opening tonight. I was, well, nourishing to hear from all the artists and feast on your exquisite works! Thanks you BGA!
So impressed with this exhibition!!
What bountiful exhibit with so many terrific entries.
Thanks so much for putting it together.
So many great artists for this exhibition, proud to be one of them, and wanted to say thank you for this great opportunity.
This exhibit shows a lot of creativity and a lot of ways that one can nourish himself or herself in these very trying times. I enjoyed viewing the various ways nourishment is portrayed. Thank you.
Thank you so much for providing this virtual alternative to your wonderful art shows - I've been inspired and cheered by so many excellent works over the years, and so happy to be able to continue the experience in this period of pandemic isolation. May we all be able to return to "real life" soon.
My husband Dick and I so enjoyed the BGA Reception last night, April 9th. Not only does the exhibit itself heal and calm/comfort the viewer, but the reception did also. We appreciated the music, but especially Elaine Hawkes' talk and art that she shared, also work and comments by John Williams.
You have created an atmosphere of welcome acceptance for artists and viewers that is special and uplifting. We learned quite a bit and felt enriched by the Zoom meeting.
Art has fulfilled the process/promise described last night for me since I was 20 and before. I have been lucky enough to have had a studio separate from my home since then and have been able to run there to put colors, lines and shapes on paper, canvas or other surfaces. This art work has paralleled my life through various full time jobs in education and elsewhere, through two marriages, children and many moves. It has been one constant. Although the work is always varied, it is my life.
So thank you for including my work in this show and for the rich programs and discussions you present.
Some great stuff!
I really enjoyed this virtual art show format . You have created a medium for so many talented arises . Thank you for including John Williams in your presentation .
Thank you for sending me access to your virtual art exhibit.
I am a new to doing collage and have been so inspired by the portrait collage work of artist John Williams, particularly his careful attention to collage skin tones, because in this society skin color/tone is still so fraught with importance and pain.
So inspired by your passion, creativity and purpose...much gratitude and appreciation for your vision!
What an exquisite collection of visions, at just the right moment, with the changing of seasons, both in nature's rhythms and, we can hope, in steady reopening of human life in the wake of this long dark season of the pandemic.
A wonderfully healing show! This is just what I needed now. I was transported to a more peaceful place and time. Thank you.
Remarkable statements- so much talent.
I am honored to be a part of this incredible show. "Twisted Trees/Twisted Lives" enabled me to share some of my thoughts during this difficult and isolating year. Now I can walk in this garden of amazing and beautiful art and feel that I am walking with others to a new and welcoming life. Thank you.
I do believe ART HEALS is one of the richest, most impactful shows in BGA's history.
Thank you!
The show looks great
Fantastic! So enjoyed.
Wonderful to delved into healing visions
A most inspiring group of portraits depicting the times we live in. Thanks for such an exhibit in a most difficult period of forced isolation.
I enjoyed these portraits and how nicely the show was organized and presented.
I especially appreciated being able to see them at a time when it's hard to visit galleries and museums. Thank you!
Thank you so much for presenting this very interesting online show of portraits. Covid notwithstanding the community of artists has put their best foot forward in this challenging time.
Thank you for installing the FACING YOU show. I am glad to be a part of it.
Wow!, what a great show, both in terms of the quality, evocative work, but also in the curation, organization, and commentary. Wonderful show, beautifully presented. Well done!
I just want you to know what a great job you've done on Facing You. I love the structure - the title, the "poster", the introduction and the section approach which was not only perfectly fitting for COVID times( faces during a time of daily use of masks) but also for a virtual gallery. The structure kept me engaged and wanting to move to the next section which wouldn't have happened if it was just a gallery of 150( for example) pieces of artwork with no sub sections. The range of artistic approaches was terrific as was the quality of the work. I am thrilled to have 2 pieces accepted into the show. Feedback from friends and family has all been very positive.
The show is wonderful and I’m so excited to be included. You and Adine did such a beautiful job!
The exhibit looks terrific — what a wonderful group of portraits and I love the way you categorized them — very unique…..
The show looks amazing. I am so impressed by the quality and variety of the work.
Thank you for installing the FACING YOU show. I am glad to be a part of it.

Happy 2021! Congratulations on the virtual BGA portrait exhibit, Facing You.
Such a wonderful selection of portraits in all styles and media. I love how you curated the different sections by category of interpretations. Your hard work is reflected in a wonderful exhibit. So glad to see that BGA is back!
